PRAISE THE LORD!
When God works, it's obvious!
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
PROVERBS 22:6(KJV)
I was raised in a Christian Home, and my dad was (and still is) my Pastor. As long as I can remember, I went to church; (my dad frequently says) "I made drug addicts out of my kids, I drug them to church until they were addicted to it." Thank God for that!
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
PROVERBS 12:1(KJV)
Being a Preacher's Kid or P.K. does, however, have its downside, More is expected of P.Ks. than most other children. Being under the microscope left me a little bitter towards other Christians. I saw the ugly side of some of these individuals and it really effected me. I eventually gained the correct attitude, "Christians are NOT perfect, we have the same flaws as everybode else. The difference is, we are trying to do something about it." That difference is Jesus!!!
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
ROMANS 3:23(KJV)
I've made my mistakes and learned my lessons, sometimes (it Seams) I just have to learn the hard way.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
1 JOHN 1:9(KJV)
Thank God for His forgiveness, and His wisdom.
Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.
PSALMS 33:3(KJV)
I began my musical journey in 1980 at just 10 years old, when I started taking Bass Guitar lessons. It wasn't long before I started playing bass at church. At 15 I began to teach myself to play the guitar and drums. I absolutely fell in love with music, for me, music is my escape. I can just lose myself in music, but I didn't realize just how important music was to me until 1997.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
HEBREWS 11:1(KJV)
My x-wife and I were having trouble and I dealt with it by teaching myself the piano. I went out and bought several Classical CDs and some sheet music. I started with Beathovens "Fur Elise" It took a while but I learned it very well, and began more ambitious selections Like "Flight of the Bumblebee," and "The Hungarian Rapsody." I never finished them, but while I was working on them I completely escaped my emotional trauma when my first marriage failed.
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
PSALMS 37:4(KJV)
The Lord saw fit to bless me and in August of 1999 I married the love of my life, Carla, since then I have had no need or desire to play the piano, nothing to escape. I know that many Christians frown upon divorce, and especially remarriage, however both of these decisions were showered in prayer and I am confident that I have the Lord's blessing.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
PROVERBS 3:6(KJV)
Since then I have learned to approach things more cautiously and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS! Pray and trust the Lord before I make any life-altering descions.
